Karina Arouca
Karina is a Partner at SMA and heads the Labor and Litigation departments.
With a career of more than 17 years, she is recognized for her extensive experience in advising domestic and international clients, with a specialized focus on Labor, Migration, Civil, Commercial, Family, and Criminal Law.
Her professional journey is defined by a strong institutional background, having served as the Executive Director of the Mozambique Bar Association, a role that underscores her deep understanding of the country’s legal and regulatory landscape. In addition to her legal practice, Karina is a Certified Judicial Mediator, providing a strategic and conciliatory approach to conflict resolution.
She holds a Postgraduate degree in International Trade Law from Eduardo Mondlane University and a Law Degree from ISCTEM (Maputo, Mozambique).
She is a Judicial Mediator certified by the Maputo City Court Mediation Service and a Member of the Mozambique Bar Association.
Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Italian.
